CHEER

CCRD cheerleaders practice 2 or 3 nights a week to work on cheer basics such as sidelines cheers, chants, field cheers, jumps and tumbling.

The cheerleaders also learn a routine to perform in the NKYFL Cheer Competition which is usually held the first Saturday of October.

Cheerleading is a wonderful way for girls to build long lasting friendships while working on team work, and most of all, building self esteem and a feeling of accomplishment. Our youngest girls consist of our Spirit Squad and Starters where fundamentals are stressed and they are taught simple fun cheers, jumps and games to help the girls get used to cheering and performing as a squad.  As the girls get older and abilities progress, we add to the cheers, jumps and routines.  Each squad has at least one coach and one Team Parent.  We also promote mentoring of the younger girls by the older girls which allows the older squads to share their knowledge and experience.
